**Clearwater Beach Florida: If you love big, white-sandy beaches, lots of sun, and plenty to do then Clearwater is a great choice. You’ll enjoy Pier 60 and the gorgeous sunsets, a nice mix of art, history, and nightlife. Plus, if you are a boater, fisherman, swimmer, or outdoor type, then Clearwater offers a lot to do. Located on the Gulf Coast near Tampa and St. Pete’s.

** On the Panhandle our choice is Destin Florida: Many will say Panama City Beach, which is a fun spot to go, especially on spring break, but if you want golfing, family fun, and beautiful beaches, Destin is your vacation destination. Located on the Emerald Coast, the white sand is a perfect playground for children and adults. The various condos and homes offer extraordinary accommodations. Not to mention the golf courses are world class. Such a great vacation that many people buy second homes in Destin.

**Key West: You can’t mention Florida beaches without saying something about The Keys. Although all the areas in The Keys are amazing, Key West was our favorite to visit. Make sure you head over to Smathers Beach, drive up and down the main highway- A1A, and take part in the activities on Duval Street. Rent a buggy, visit the southernmost point, enjoy the arts and entertainment, and see the sunset at Mallory Square. Key West offers too much to list in one small article.

**Orlando: Yes, I know, Orlando isn’t a beach area. However, Orlando is in such a great location that there are numerous beaches to visit if you take part in the magic of Orlando. Cocoa beach is east along the Atlantic Coast where you can enjoy the beaches, pier, plenty of water activities, great shopping, and more. Headed west you can venture to any of the Gulf beaches including Clearwater, and surrounding areas. You are closer to the Atlantic Coast and less than one hour from many of the top Florida beaches, so keep that in mind when you visit Disney!

**Finally, we must mention Miami: North Beach, South Beach, and in between, Miami offers a vacation experience like no other. The sand was soft, the waters were a clear emerald color, and the people were from all over. Hot bodies, a nightlife that attracts people from all over- even the Hollywood elite, and world-class cuisine, Miami is nothing short of fun and excitement. Choose from a quiet, relaxing vacation or one that leaves you sleepless. Make sure you visit Ocean Dr and tour the strip on Collins Ave. Also, if you head north you can visit another great beach- Fort Lauderdale. Plus, highway A1A will take you south to The Florida Keys.

There are a ton of beaches that we didn’t include in this article. Some of our other favorites are, Daytona Beach, St Augustine, Naples, Siesta Key, and Palm Beach to name a few. Everyone has their tastes and views on what a perfect Florida vacation is and these are our top choices.

Its Super Bowl time again, invite over some friends and have yourself a party. Since most of the Super Bowl involves sitting and staring at the television screen you can get active for part of the day at your pre-game party. Invite guests over early to play a little game of touch football. This can also be a good game for the kids to play, especially if their complaining about their television time being taken up by football. It will get your guests active for the period of time before the game comes on and will get them into a competitive mood to watch the Super Bowl.

Create your own pre-game show to entertain the guests. You can act out a series of the most popular Super Bowl commercials. People will have fun trying to guess which commercial your skits are from. If you want you can make up your very own Super Bowl commercial. Try setting up the Karaoke machine at half time and have guests to take turns getting up to sing a few bars.

Place your snacks near guests during the game so that you don’t have a lot of people getting up and interrupted the game to go gets snacks in the kitchen. Naturally the party will involve beer and other drinks so you may wish to get out the cooler, fill it with ice and set it in the living room. Guests will be able to reach in and grab a drink without bothering anyone. Since there will be alcohol present you should start brewing some coffee towards the end of the game to help guests be more alert on the drive home. You may wish to make the guest room available for the occasional party goers that lives out of town or imbibed a little too much. Have a good party!

Lanzarote is the perfect island destination for that holiday in the sun and is ideal for self catering holidays with hundreds of lovely holiday villas to choose from. But how do you choose which one?

Firstly, you need to choose which resort you’d like to stay in. There are 3 main resorts - Puerto del Carmen, Costa Teguise and Playa Blanca. Each has its own character and attractions. Puerto del Carmen is the largest and busiest resort with 6 kilometres of sandy beaches and a long promenade lined with many shops, cafes, restaurants and nightclubs. Costa Teguise is a little smaller and is a family resort with beaches, shopping centres, cafes and restaurants. Playa Blanca is the newest resort and is a little bit more laid back and quieter with seafront cafes and restaurants, upmarket shops and a stunning new marina. In addition there are typical whitewashed Canarian villages inland such as Tias and Nazaret, suitable for those who like a relaxing holiday away from it all.

Having chosen your place to stay, you now have to find a villa. Most villas have private pools, so if you are coming to the island in winter, make sure the pool is heated, preferably electrically, as unheated pools will be rather cold. Your main criteria will be your budget of course. Villas in Puerto del Carmen with private pools tend to be a bit more expensive as most of them are 3 bedroom, behind the main strip and are therefore within walking distance of the beach and amenities. Exclusive areas like Los Mojones can be quite expensive. Costa Teguise has fewer villas and they tend to be a little bit less expensive.

By far the greatest choice of villas is in Playa Blanca where you can rent a 2 bedroom villa without a private pool for about £300 a week in the low season and about £600 a week in peak season for a villa with a private pool, and a 4 bedroom villa for up to £1300 a week in peak season. Playa Blanca is quite a sprawling resort and generally speaking the closer you are to the resort centre and beaches, the higher the price you will pay. With a lot of villas, a hire car will be necessary as a lot of the developments are on the outskirts of the resorts. Prices for villas inland will be a bit cheaper and many offer spectacular views.

Knowing your budget and being clear on your priorities, you can now search for your villa. By far the most popular way is on the internet by putting such phrases as “Villas in Lanzarote” and “Luxury Villas Lanzarote” into search engines. There are also magazines like Private Villas available in most high street newsagents and in supermarkets. You have the choice of buying a package or villa only from a large villa agent or renting direct from the owner through the many private rental websites. Normally prices are cheaper renting a villa from a private owner, and often the standard of accommodation is higher, as the private owner has more incentive to please, wanting you to come back again next year. Once you have maybe picked out a few villas you think may be suitable for you, don’t hesitate to ask questions about the villa and the area before deciding.
