I grew up being told that I couldn’t do mechanical things because my brother was labeled as the “mechanical one” and I was labeled as the “studious” one. In my twenties I finally challenged that belief because I had to in order to take care of myself.
Guess what? When I challenged that theory I discovered I could do a lot of things I never tried because I was always told I wouldn’t be able to do them.
Remember that you can be or do anything you commit to being or doing. Some things will come more naturally to yoiu than others, but you have the power to always be and do your best.
You’ve probably heard the phrase “Stop shoulding all over yourself.” ‘Should’ is a word we use to exert power over ourselves and others through guilt. The funny thing is that we tell ourselves what we ’should’ do even more than we do it to other people.
If you catch yourself before you ’should’ on yourself you’ll see that the ’should’ that feels so important is just another belief that you can choose to change.
Our minds can be our worst enemies. Our minds are constantly making up stuff about whats good/bad, right/wrong, important/irrelevant, etc. We are run by these beliefs, many of which are arbitrary and constantly changing.
Think about an issue that tends to worry you over and over. Why is this worry imprisoning you by creating a ton of stress when a lot of other people aren’t even aware of it?
We all pick different issues and beat ourselves up about getting these issues done, getting them right, takig care of them etc. They only feel important to us because our minds made up that they’re important issues. At the same time we’re totally unaware of other issues that other people are constantly worrying about. It’s silly and it also causes heart attacks.
The most problematic two words ever put together are ‘good enough.’ What exactly is good enough? Nothing is. Is doesn’t exist. It’s a subjective choice that’s like a carrot on a stick that is impossible to achieve. It moves farther away with every new accomplishment.
‘Good enough’ is an American complex. It may exist in other countries (though the Spanish language doesn’t even have words to describe it), but in America it’s in the air we breathe.
Most Americans feel like they’re ‘not good enough.’ But if you ask them (or yourself), “What would be good enough?” they’re dumbfounded. They don’t have an answer as to what signifies achieving ‘good enough.’ All they know is that they can find millions of other people who appear (key word) to have things they don’t have. They think that if they had all these things, maybe they would be good enough …until they see something else they don’t have that they think they want, need, can’t get or should have. I invite you to choose one of these words a day to stop using. Catch yourself before the word leaves your lips. If the word gets out simply correct yourself with a powerful positive statement.
If you’re about to say, “I want to go to the movies,” then instead simply say “I would like to go to the movies.” or “I choose to go to the movies.” Now you’re using words that create possibility and express responsibility. Doesn’t it feel better when you speak like this? Yes, it does. It’s because your speaking from a place of power.
It’s your life. Choose to create it with words that reflect the responsible, powerful masterful spirit that you are.

Know thyself.
These words were inscribed in the vestibule of the Temple of Apollo at Delphi.
For centuries, petitioners seeking advice from the oracle at Delphi would view the inscription. Philosophers throughout the ages offered this same advice to their students. These words are as valuable today as they were almost three thousand years earlier.
Part of “knowing yourself” is understanding your beliefs. The difficulty is that most beliefs are subconscious. They have been accepted without ever having been critically examined.
As was described in last month’s newsletter, the Law of Attraction states that you will attract to yourself those experiences that match your beliefs. These beliefs create your experience of reality. What if these beliefs are in opposition to what you’re actually trying to accomplish? What if they no longer serve you? Wouldn’t it be useful to eliminate these limiting beliefs?
There are a number of techniques to identify unconscious beliefs: taking a battery of psychological tests or tapping into your inner wisdom via meditation are two of them. There is a shortcut that can predict with 99% accuracy what your beliefs are. It is so simple that people usually overlook it. Even when it is clearly stated, they frequently ignore it.
After all, most people have accepted these beliefs as true and don’t want to hear anything that might contradict what they believe is true. Remember, you are not your beliefs. You are a divine spiritual being, so why hold onto anything that is preventing you from realizing this truth?
So here’s the secret.
Look around. Whenever you have a repeating problem in some area of your life, then that is where you have a false or limiting belief. This doesn’t mean that just because you’re in between relationships or jobs, you necessarily have a false belief. But if the problem constantly reappears, then you can be 99% certain a false belief is involved.
Avoid the temptation to blame someone for inserting this false belief into your belief system. After all, you could easily point fingers at your parents, teachers, friends, TV, etc., as well as yourself. It’s not important where it came from, you just want to be rid of it, so you can experience your ideal life.
You have two choices here. You can 1) identify your unconscious beliefs and release them, or 2) learn to recognize the symptoms of accepting this limiting belief and change your thoughts. You can also do a combination of the two.
Choice 1) Use your attitudes to identify your false beliefs. Let’s say you want more money. What is your impression of wealthy people? Are you happy for them or resentful? If you’re resentful, then what signal do you think you’re sending out to the universe? You don’t want anything to do with those “rich people!” Consequently, the Law of Attraction states that you won’t attract wealth into your life.
One way to free yourself of a negative belief is to write it on a piece of paper and burn it while telling yourself it is forever banished from your being. Write a positive affirmation on another piece of paper such as “Good people can have money.” You can add other affirmations, such as “I am worthy of prosperity” and “Money flows easily to me.” Repeat these affirmations aloud 9 times a day for 21 days. This is the length of time it takes to reprogram your instinctive mind, where these beliefs are stored.
Choice 2) Make sure you are always sending out the proper vibration. Remember that your goal is make sure that you are sending the right vibration to attract to yourself the experience you desire. The best barometer of whether you are sending out the proper signals is to MONITOR YOUR EMOTIONS. If you’re not feeling good, then you need to change your thoughts, because the emotions that are being felt, indicate your thoughts are sending the wrong message.
Replace your negative thoughts with positive ones. The book, “Ask and It is Given” identifies and ranks 22 emotions. Understanding that most people can’t go from despair to joy in one step, they advise you to simply keep moving up the ladder. Eventually, you’ll get to feel joy more and more frequently and for longer periods of time.
In both cases, you have substituted positive thoughts and feelings for negative ones. You may recognize this involves a degree of self-observation. As was inscribed on the Temple at Delphi, “Know Thyself.”
Incidentally, this process of substituting thoughts will work for any thought, including a memory. If you have any unpleasant memories, you can substitute positive experiences for them. Mystics call this Mental Alchemy, after the old alchemists that transformed lead into gold.
So, manifest your ideal life, the mystic’s way.

Everyone who has met a little child has seen it; the amazement of a little child. The child sees a bus, and gets all excited about it, it sees a dog, and can’t sit still in its pram. Can we still find the way back to the amazement of the little child within us? I am convinced we can, and we have a lot to win by trying to do so.
Open your window on a starry night and watch the sky. Just think - most of these stars are so far from you that you cannot be sure whether they exist at all anymore. They could have died down millions of years ago, but you still see their light. What you see is an image of the sky as it was a very long time ago. See and be amazed! Look at your own body. Think of how well organized your blood circulation is; all the cells, white and red corpuscles, blood plates, all with their specific roles to keep you healthy. Everything works a thousand times cleverer than the most advanced computer, without us having to think about it. Be amazed!
Often it isn’t until we find ourselves in a crisis and, like Ibsen’s Peer Gynt, are reminded of our mortality, that we learn how to enjoy what others take for granted; we suddenly appreciate a simple cup of tea, the safe and familiar sound of the spoon when stirring the sugar, a sunbeam through the window…
Think of the small things in everyday life. Feel the pleasure of kneading dough, combing your hair, walking in the rain, making an angel in the snow! Be happy about how incredibly great the small things really are. Never do anything as a matter of routine, do it as if it were the first time. Learn from the child. Never stop being amazed! Maybe it is not just luck that brought us here. Perhaps there is a special reason for living. There could be a unique plan for each one of us. If we find that plan we may have found the truth inside us. Our deep yearning for satisfaction could in itself be an indication of the existence of something that could satisfy us, the goal for our searching and yearning. This is what Aristotle called “the final cause”. The reason for the rain to fall is that the earth needs it. But this is belief, not knowledge.

And one day, even a sceptic like me could be obliged to accept a phenomenon I did not believe in before. Every answer that humans have found about this world and about the universe is belief and hypotheses. Even the discoveries of science are only theories. Schools today present a concept of the world as if it were knowledge. In reality we don’t know much at all. Science provides us with theories that can be proved using scientific methods. That does not mean they are true. It only means there are methods with which we can study a theory or a phenomenon. Another method or survey may “prove” something else. It’s important to remember that. We grown up people like to put things into forms and boxes, calculate and arrange them. It gives us a sense of security in a confused world. But reality is bigger than that. It won’t be put in a form. The actual truth won’t let us find it so easily. Maybe not until we learn how to view the world through the amazed eyes of a little child.

The job of a problem is to get your attention. Being overwhelmed is a problem. Therefore, being frequently overwhelmed should be a sign that you are doing something wrong. Look around. There are people doing what you do without being overwhelmed. There are people doing much more than you are doing without being overwhelmed. The workload isn’t the real problem…it’s how you approach your work that is the problem.
When you encounter a problem, stop and ask yourself, “What’s the real problem? How can I make it go away?”
